FHWA Announces Funding for Bridge Modernization

The Bridge Investment Program supports planning, repair, and replacement projects.

The Department of Transportation’s Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) has opened applications for improvement projects under the Bridge Investment Program. A total of $9.7 billion is being made available under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law for bridge planning, repair, and replacement. The department stated the funding is intended “to help ensure that some of the nation’s most important bridges remain safe and operational, meet current and future traveler needs, support local economies, strengthen supply chains, “ and create jobs.

“When a bridge closes, it costs Americans time and money, disrupts supply chains across the region, and sometimes cuts off entire communities from vital resources,” said Secretary Pete Buttigieg. “We are making the largest investment in America’s bridges since the construction of the Interstate system, and these grants will help repair bridges in communities of all sizes, so we can get people and goods safely to where they need to be.”

As the Lord Leads, Pray with Us…

  • For Secretary Buttigieg as he oversees the allotment of infrastructure funding for projects around the nation.
  • For FHWA Administrator Shailen Bhatt as he facilitates the Bridge Investment Program.
